We have only done a few quick tests with this, but it seems to work well. It isn't too noisy, yet powerful enough to pull the fumes from a reasonable distance.
Still a bit confused as to how the solder spool holder works, but it does allow the spool to spin freely so seemingly working. The extra weight of the solder probably helps keep the whole thing stable as well.
